Here’s to a fantastic season in the Garden — what a blast!!!
We made new friends, learned to grow and prepare new foods, observed new insects — and the list goes on. I even learned that mustard seeds used to make mustard for my hotdogs come from the same plant that grows mustard greens! That was an “Aha” moment for me.
This is my sophomore gardening year, and it was even better than my first year. We had plenty of rain and the Garden really responded. We grew more than enough for Learn & Grow volunteers to take home twice a week after they helped out in the Garden. We also donated fresh produce to the Maria Shelter and a group of lovely ladies at the Vincennes Senior Center, both programs of the Institute of Women Today.
